Chevening Fellows 2008 Welcome Back Event
On Monday 9th April, Deputy Head of Mission, Richard Morris, from the British Embassy hosted a "welcome back breakfast" for returning Chevening Fellows. In 2008, the British Embassy sent five fellows to study short, intensive three-month courses on a range of subjects related to UK international strategic priorities. The subjects ranged from the economics of climate change, to reform, regulation and public service provision. Fellows studied in locations like the University of Cambridge and Bradford. The idea of the welcome back breakfast was to find out how their three months in the UK had gone, what had worked well with the courses and what we could do to improve the fellowship scheme. We also wanted to hear what the newly returned fellows were up to, now that they were back in Mexico and what from their studies might be useful in a Mexican context. We rounded off the breakfast by presenting the official Chevening certificates and the obligatory group photo!
