On Thursday 19 June 2008, the British Embassy in Mexico celebrated the official birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at the Ambassador's residence, as well as the richness and diversity of British creativity.

The British Ambassador Giles Paxman and his wife Ségolene Paxman hosted the event, which included various different areas showing a small sample of the breadth and Depth of British Creativity. These included:

Automobile Design Exhibitions showing the new Jaguar XF and Jaguar XKR, the new Aston Martin DB7 and many others. The exhibit also included a video directed by Ian Callum, Director of Design at Jaguar.
A Virtual Gallery of Architectural, Industrial and Graphic Design
A movie tent showing an exhibition of British Films
An Interior Design Exhibition, having on display rugs designed by Vivienne Westwood and Paul Smith
A DJ playing exclusively British Music
A Catwalk with design proposals from Alexander McQueen, Paul Smith, Fleur T, Tateossian, Orlebar brown, Vivienne Westwood, Eskandar, MCQ and Luella.
